Hi, I’m Niki.

I work in quantum computing, one of the most exciting and least understood fields in science right now. I’m also an active member of Elevating Quantum Women’s Voices in Australia — because one of the things I care most about is showing people that a career in science is possible, even if you didn’t study it.

Science isn’t just for scientists. It’s one of the most powerful tools we have for understanding what it means to be human — and it belongs to everyone.

What Subtextt is about

I spend a lot of time at the frontier of where science is heading. Subtextt is where I slow all of that down and ask a simpler question: what’s really going on beneath the feeling?

Because beneath every experience, every mood, every argument, every moment that doesn’t quite make sense - there’s usually a reason. Something the brain and body has filtered, simplified, or reshaped without telling you. Most of the time that’s helpful. But what if paying attention to that changed how you went through your life?

That’s what I’m exploring here. One scientific idea at a time, once a week, in five minutes.

About the name

Subtextt is about what sits beneath what you notice first. The double t is not a typo. The extra t stands for time — because what's really going on beneath the surface is rarely something you see all at once. It forms gradually, as a thought, over time.

Go Beneath

If you want to go further, Go Beneath is a free practical guide I created to help you find the reason beneath the feelings you can’t always explain. It’s three steps, grounded in science, and you can work through it at your own pace.

Thanks for being here.

Niki
